You may have heard that the Raiders are coming to Las Vegas, and while they may be playing their home games in Vegas, the majority of their time will be spent in Henderson. They will be practicing at their new, state of the art, 300,000 square foot practice facility right here in Henderson. The $75 million facility includes a structure enclosing an artificial turf football field and a half, a three-story office building and three outdoor natural grass playing fields.

Why Henderson you may ask? Maybe it is because Forbes rated it as the second safest city to live or maybe it is because it is the fastest growing city in Nevada. Either way, aside from the eight home games they have this season, our Raiders will be in Henderson when they are not on the road.

This practice facility isn’t just for the players, it’s for the community of Henderson too! They are building a three-story atrium which will showcase Raiders memorabilia and lead to an area with a theater where team members will review game videos and the public could be invited for special events. There’s also talk about a cafe there which would also be open to the public. If you live in Henderson you will be close to all the action and even score a chance to watch the Raiders players practice!

So, Raiders nation, next time you are tuning into a game, watching our players warm up or our cheerleaders perform, remember, those guys live in Henderson. Thanks for tuning into this special edition of the Henderson Halftime Report!
